‘I refuse’: NSW opposition leader advised to cease hospital visits

NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns says he “refuses to believe” his visits to hospital emergency departments disrupt their usual procedures, after the Perrottet government advised him to desist.

“I refuse to believe that turning up to an ED, quickly checking out how many people are waiting and if there’s no one at the counter, thanking the nurse for their service is disruption or a breach of protocol,” Mr Minns said.

“Really its the obligation of every member of parliament to really see fort themselves how services are actually being delivered.

“I would of thought that it’s in fact core business for the leader of the opposition as well.”
