Altron Announces New Chief Executive

JSE-listed technology company Altron has announced the appointment of Werner Kapp as Group Chief Executive, effective October 1, 2022.

Stewart van Graan, Altron’s Executive Chairman, said: “Following a rigorous search and recruitment process by the Board, we are delighted to appoint a recognized leader with extensive expertise and industry experience.

“Werner will drive our vision as Altron to become a pre-eminent provider of technology services, aiming to strengthen our local and global presence in the digital solutions market. This is a market where the opportunities are significant.”

Kapp was with Dimension Data where he held various roles as CEO (Middle East & Africa), Chief Operating Officer (Middle East & Africa) and regional head over a period of 22 years.

Kapp holds a law degree from Nelson Mandela University and a master’s degree in business leadership from the UNISA School of Business. He holds a Global Leadership Development Certification from IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In a statement, Altron’s board of directors thanked Stewart van Graan, who has been the group’s interim CEO since July 2022 and will return to his role as chief executive from October 1.
