Kylian Mbappe has been officially confirmed as a FIFA 21 cover star, which means the Paris Saint-Germain star’s image will be hitting shelves around the world with the latest installment of the game, to be released on October 9th.

Eden Hazard was the cover star of FIFA 20, but game developer EA Sports has opted for a different superstar for the forthcoming release.

Mbappe is considered one of the best players in world football, having won the World Cup and been crowned Golden Boy in 2018. He also has four Ligue 1 titles to his name.

“Being on the cover of FIFA is a dream come true. From my time at Bondy to Clairefontaine to the World Cup, this is another big milestone.

“I’ve played this game since I was a child and I’m honored to represent a whole new generation of footballers and to be in the same group as many other great footballers with whom I now share this honor.”

Mbappe will be featured in all three editions of FIFA 21, including the Standard, Champions and Legends editions of the game.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix and Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland will all feature heavily in the game’s menus and other graphics.

Last year, Virgil van Dijk was on the cover of the Champions issue, while Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was the star of the Legends issue.
