Saudi Arabia prohibits the use of the national flag and emblem for advertising purposes

Saudi Arabia has banned the use of its national flag and emblem in advertisingand the Commerce Department warns that anyone violating the ban faces legal action.

The ministry clarified that the ban applies to individuals and companies from using the national flag in commercial promotions, including goods and products, publications, brochures and gifts. The ban also includes images and the names of Saudi leaders and officials.

It is worth noting that four years ago Saudi Arabia issued a circular to companies banning the use of the state emblem of two swords and a palm tree in business dealings.
