Here’s Marco Rubio lying like a liar about the lawsuit brought against DeSantis by LEGAL asylum seekers

Gosh, some people just don’t appreciate it when they and their families are used as props in a cynical campaign stunt by an American politician who just wanted to frame the Liberals. Therefore, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and others in his administration were hit by a class-action lawsuit filed by three of the 50 migrants that DeSantis was said to have picked up in Texas and flown to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, with a brief stop in Florida so DeSantis could do so Migrants were also a problem for Floridians.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, alleges that DeSantis, Florida Transportation Secretary Jared Perdue, and other defendants who have yet to be identified “designed and executed a premeditated, fraudulent and illegal scheme relating to exploitation concentrated [the asylum seekers] for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests. DeSantis’ scheme included “trolling streets outside of a migrant shelter in Texas and other similar locations, pretending to be Good Samaritans offering humanitarian assistance.”

Among other sleazy actions, the lawsuit alleges that DeSantis agents in Texas took advantage of and made migrants’ poverty and hunger

false promises and misrepresentations that if the plaintiffs and group members agreed to board planes to other states, they would receive employment, housing, educational opportunities and similar assistance upon arrival.

Speaking on Fox News last night, DeSantis told Sean Hannity that the migrants had “all signed consent forms” before the flights, but the lawsuit says the forms were not fully translated into Spanish and the migrants were pressured into getting food to eat – or at least a $10 McDonalds gift card. So generous!

In his Popular Information newsletter, Judd Legum broke the story earlier this week that the migrants were given fake pamphlets designed to look like Massachusetts state publications detailing the benefits of the state’s refugee resettlement program. But because they’re not part of a fugitive program, the migrants were out of the question for something like that, not that the DeSantis fraud and kidnapping crew bothered to deal with such details.

Among other insults and abuse, the lawsuit tells how

When those who were being hauled onto the planes disembarked at Martha’s Vineyard, it became apparent that no one had anticipated their arrival and uncertainty quickly set in. In Texas, the Doe defendants had given plaintiffs phone numbers and told them to call with questions. But when the planes landed in Massachusetts, the Doe Defendants were suddenly nowhere to be found and unavailable by phone. Penniless and stranded, the plaintiffs were now even more vulnerable to precarious conditions.

Just disgusting. We hope they get DeSantis and Florida cleaned up.

In a Twitter video today, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida), a real lawyer who should know better, fumed at how utterly insane it is that these horrible people are allowed to seek damages just because they were abused and their rights violated.

Do you see that? Right in his tweet, Rubio lies that they are “entering[ed] by breaking our laws, which again is A LIE.

Rubio then railed that these people, who immediately turned themselves in at the border to apply for asylum and are in fact here legally while awaiting an asylum procedure, are “allowed” to claim compensation simply for having been harmed. It’s actually pretty common in all countries that allow lawsuits, really! He also lamented how unfair it was that liberals and the media wanted “millions of people” in the US to be illegally cared for forever “but only if they stay in Florida, only if they stay in Texas,” which indeed is the case isn’t remotely something anyone actually asks for, so fuck him again.

Bottom line: kidnapping and luring with false promises are still crimes, even if you should do them to someone you think shouldn’t be in the US, so once again Marco Rubio is just the worst, fuck him forever, and also …
