Julia Fox’s wildest outfits from New York Fashion Week 2022 | Photos

Every season, celebrities flock to New York Fashion Week to sit front row at the shows and dance the night away at designers’ parties — but during the September 2022 collections, no star commanded attention quite like Julia Fox.

In addition to taking in the latest collections from talents like LaQuan Smith and Jonathan Simkhai, the Uncut Gems muse made head-turning appearances at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons bash and Vogue’s Boom Boom Room shindig, and even hit the runway for Tommy Hilfiger.

Famous for her fearless fashion sense — who could forget the time she went grocery shopping in her underwear, or dared to wear the world’s most dangerously low-rise leather pants? — Julia didn’t disappoint with her fashion week looks, which included everything from an pearlescent, heavily pierced “naked” dress to a bandeau bra made from duct tape.

Below, see all her over-the-top outfits.

Spreading her wings

At Vogue’s Smart Toxin fête at the Standard Hotel, she went full goth Cleopatra in a dramatic Iris van Herpen ensemble.

That’s a wrap

For the Bloomingdale’s 150 x Harper’s Bazaar Icons bash, Julia wore a see-through, cling wrap-like Joanna Prazmo dress.

To finish the look, she made a DIY clutch and platform boots she fashioned from the actual kitchen staple an hour before the party, she told Bazaar.

The dress was a “futuristic take on the naked dress” made from a translucent material that left little to the imagination.

Twinning trendsetters

At the Elena Velez show, Julia showed up with son Valentino in tow — and the duo even matched in glossy black get-ups.

The pair posed for photos, with social media users praising Julia for “juggling” motherhood with work.

She shares the 20-month-old with her ex-husband Peter Artemiev, a private pilot she married in November 2018. Valentino was born in January 2021, after her divorce was finalised.

Check the tape

The “duct tape bikini” trend has been around for a while, but now Kanye West’s ex has given the controversial fashion garment a spin.

Julia was spotted out and about in an avant-garde pair of Junya Watanabe trousers teamed with a single, strategically placed strip of duct tape across her chest.

The model, who has just posed for Paper Magazine, wore her long hair down past her shoulders and rocked her signature dark eye make-up.

No pants, no problem

Less than a year after making her runway debut at NYFW, Fox returned to the catwalk during Tommy Hilfiger’s drizzly outdoor show, modelling a striped knit bodysuit and patterned tights.

Mini moment

At LaQuan Smith, the 32-year-old wore a faux fur shrug, matching purse and black bra top with a raw-edged miniskirt similar to the one she once DIY’d using a men’s Hanes tank.

Making a splash

One of her most talked about outfits was this “mermaid” ensemble she wore to the Parsons MFA show, where she arrived wearing a clear acrylic bustier by a student designers, WeiRan.

The outfit was designed to make it to look like water cascading down her chest.

Her wild look also included a seafoam-hued mermaid skirt covered in fringe.

The outfit displayed Julia’s “underboob”, with some stating it was her “sexiest” look from the week.

Social media commentators applauded Julia for wearing the unknown, student designer – stating it would “put them on the map”.

“She could have worn anyone, she didn’t have to do that, so kudos to her for giving a student a leg up,” one said on TikTok.
